CEE Bankwatch Network (CEEBN)

CEE BWCEE Bankwatch is central and eastern Europe’s largest network of grassroots, environmental and human rights groups. It seeks to challenge international financial institutions not to finance environmentally and socially harmful investments. The Bankwatch Network calls for public money to be spent on climate-friendly development that is not driven by economic growth per se but by benefits to society and the environment in economically sustainable ways. It monitors public finance institutions that are responsible for hundreds of billions of investments across the globe.

Our work in development finance

Bankwatch Network works with local communities on campaigns to stop or change harmful or dubious investment projects funded by international public finance across central and eastern Europe, expose the influence of IFIs and provide a counterbalance to their unchecked power.
