Jamaa RI

Jamaa Resource Initiative (JRI) is a non-profit organization created in 2009 in Kenya. JRI has advocated for communal participation and management of resources from resource-rich communities. It seeks to explore the idea of self-reliance and community-led and resourced development. JRI has come into existence by understanding the need to reduce dependence on foreign aid. The work involves research, focused discussion, and debate on the sustainability of development efforts by stakeholders throughout Africa.

To promote social responsibility of governments, International Finance Institutions, AU, regional Commissions, Corporate Organizations and individuals in Africa through capacity building, advocacy, networking, research and technical support for a just and equitable society.

Our work in development finance

Jamaa Resource Initiatives’ work involves research, focused discussion, and debate on sustainability of development throughout Africa. Its distinctive niche is that of raising adequate resources to support development work. JRI promotes collaborative links among communities and businesses defend rights in development projects.
