Civil Society Calls for ADB Accountability

Civil society groups raised a number of issues at the Asian Development Bank’s annual meeting. While the Bank, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, praised civil society as “key partners,” the groups present called on the Bank to increase its accountability, to stop lending to autocratic regimes, to commit to greater anti-corruption efforts, to protect worker’s rights, and to end Bank immunity.
