The Alliance for Conservation and Development (ACD) was created in May 2002 by a group of Panamanian scientists and professionals concerned about knowledge management for conservation purposes and the promotion of alternative development models that will benefit mainly vulnerable communities in the country. It seeks to participate in solving diverse problems, offering opportunities for society in general, and emphasizing social, political, environmental, and scientific aspects.
