The Latinoamerica Sustentable – LAS (Ancient China-Latin America Sustainable Investment Initiative (CLASII)) was established in October 2014. LAS has a team with members in Ecuador, Bolivia, Costa Rica, the United States, and Canada. It conducts research, diffuses information, organizes spaces for capacity building, develops advocacy tools, and promotes collaboration between social organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean and other regions of the world on the issues of financing and international investments, environment, and human rights.
Mission
Latinoamérica Sustentable (formerly CLASII/ ISCAL) envisions a time when Chinese companies and investors in Latin America abide by best environmental and social practices and are held accountable by an active and engaged Latin America civil society and local governments.
Notre travail dans le domaine du financement du développement
CLASII has published the "Manual on Chinese Environmental and Social Regulations for Lending and Investing Abroad," the first education tool about Chinese environmental and social overseas regulations. We have organized capacity building workshops and have assisted in preparing petitions/letters to authorities involved in Chinese investments.
