PCN is a Black association that connects more than 140 grassroots organizations, community councils, and individuals. These are constantly working to transform the political, social, economic, and territorial reality of Black, Afro-descendant, Raizal, and Palenquero communities through the defense and vindication of their individual, collective, and ancestral rights. PCN was consolidated at the end of 1993; it is dedicated to raising black consciousness, fighting racial discrimination, exclusion, and social injustice, and developing a legal and political framework for the recognition and respect of Afro-descendants’ human rights and right to self-determination in Colombia.

PCN strengthens an autonomous process of organization with grassroots Afro-descendant communities. They work to ensure that development projects respect the Afro-descendant communities free, prior and informed consultation and consent. They advocate for human rights defender protection, territorial protection, ethno-education, gender and historical and collective reparations.
