Latin America – Community Resource Exchange Facilitator

We are  seeking a Regional Facilitator for Latin America for the Community Resource Exchange, who will serve as a key focal point for the CRE within the region. The Community Resource Exchange (CRE) is a system to facilitate collaborations and co-develop strategies with and among communities defending their rights in the context of international investments and development projects. In this position, you will take initiative to enable collaborations with grassroots communities and their allies to advance development justice.

The ideal candidate will be empathetic, patient, strategic, and extremely well organized, with a commitment to community-led struggles for human rights and dignity. You must be from the region and  based in one of the countries in the region. We have flexible working hours, but you will serve as part of our international secretariat, and report to the CRE Coordinator who is based in the Philippines.

Fundraising Coordinator

We are looking for candidates who have contributed to successful fundraising efforts with institutional funders (trusts/foundations/governments) previously. This is a new role in the Coalition secretariat. The bulk of the role will be focused on fundraising for the programmatic work of the Coalition secretariat and our regranting programs. However, the role will also include a solidarity fundraising component, whereby the Fundraising Coordinator will leverage our funding relationships and expertise for the benefit of member and partner organizations, especially at the grassroots level.

Unpaid remote internship

We accept applications for unpaid, remote internships on a rolling basis, to support the work of the Defenders in Development campaign. The Coalition actively seeks applicants with diverse backgrounds. To apply, please send a cover letter and resume in English to mfodor@rightsindevelopment.org, with contact@rightsindevelopment.org in copy and “Defenders in Development – Internship” as subject line.

We particularly welcome students enrolled in investigative journalism programs/courses or recent graduates, who would be interested in learning more about financial research and how to uncover the links between projects funded by development banks and human rights violations connected to these projects.
