Country: International
Mission:
To strengthen citizen action and civil society throughout the world.
Our work in development finance:
The CIVICUS Alliance works predominantly to ensure that civic freedoms are respected across the world and views civil society mobilization, participation and consultation as critical for the realization of social justice and democracy across multiple thematic areas. The intersection of development finance with human rights realization and violations across the world, particularly where human rights defenders are targeted for their advocacy and work, has made these cross-thematic areas of critical concern when campaigning for civic space. In that regards, CIVICUS has worked extensively with lands rights, indigenous and other activists supporting research, advocacy, capacity-building, resourcing and connections.
