CRONGD (Regional Council of Development Non-governmental Organizations) was created in 1990, following a series of preparatory meetings between a group of NGOs such as SOTRABO, BDD, Projet rural, and PTB/Kabinda. Today CRONGS has more than 66 member non-governmental development organizations and works throughout the province of East Kasai. Its mission is to fight against poverty and human rights violations by strengthening the organizational, institutional, professional, and material capacities of NGOs in the province. CRONGD is also a member of national, regional, and international networks: the National Council of Non-Governmental Development Organizations, ACCA, the Coalition for Human Rights in Development, Publish What You Pay, and the Natural Resources Network (NRN).
