On 4 – 6 September 2023, over 40 Coalition’s members and partners (including representatives of Indigenous, Afro-descendant and other traditional communities, as well as civil society organizations from all over the world) joined the annual Finance in Common (FIC) Summit in Cartagena, Colombia.
The Summit, now at its 4th edition, is an opportunity for public development banks to proudly present themselves as champions in the fight against climate change and key drivers of sustainable development. Inside and outside the Summit, our members and partners challenged this distorted narrative, questioned the mainstream approach to development finance and raised critical questions on who is truly benefitting from this type of development and why we need radical changes.
