Senegalese groups challenge banks on coal power plant

Coalition member Lumiere Synergie pour le Developpement (LSD) and Takkom Jerry Plyvalence Culturelle et Environmentale filed a complaint today to the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Dutch public investment Fund (FMO) and the West African Development Bank (BOAD)’s complaint mechanisms for non-compliance of the construction of the coal power plant of 125 MW in Sendou, Senegal with their environmental and social safeguards policies.
